Welcome to my first blog post! To introduce myself, my name is Jackie Harris. I am a horse owner, barrel racer, dog owner, Search & Rescue K-9 Handler/Trainer, Pet Friend volunteer at Children's Hospital Pittsburgh and also run my own non profit, Dreaming of Three . My love for photography started with my non profit organization, Dreaming of Three. This organization takes children with life threatening diseases to a rodeo, for a fun filled, worry free night out with their family. Capturing these moments for the family, really started my love for capturing memories.
About 4.5 years ago, I started in Search & Rescue with my K-9 Partner, Oakley, a border collie. We hold three certifications, live find, cadaver land and cadaver water with International Police Work Dog Association. (IPWDA) . Again, my love of photography grew with taking photos of all the dogs at training in order to give my fellow K-9 handlers wonderful photos of their partner. #SearchandRescueK9
I craved to learn more, to improve my photography. Therefore, I joined several memberships for which the numerous courses have helped me to improve and grow my photography. Flourish Academy and Hair of the Dog Academy propelled me into starting Roam Photos and booking sessions.
My passion is for equine horse photography as well as pet dog photography. I also love to capture teenagers for their senior photos. (with or without the animals) . It is such a transitional moment in their lives, and I want to help pause the moment in time for them and their parents and family. #SeniorPhotographyPittsburgh
Before starting Roam Photos, I have volunteered my photography skills with several rescues and also with my fellow Children's Hospital et Friend volunteers.
I cannot wait to meet all the furry friends and the owners that love them and to meet seniors who are starting the next chapter of their lives!
